Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) consumers can request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies. AnnualCreditReport.com provides consumers with the secure means to do so.  Once you receive your report(s), you can see if there are any negative entries.  If they are accurate, you can go about improving those accounts.  If there is innaccurate information in your credit report, you can follow the procedure outlined on the following website to correct those errors.
